It is the goal of South Florida Karting to provide and promote a family atmosphere where all racers, young and old, can benefit from the racing experience in a safe and positive way. It is everyone’s responsibility to exhibit good sportsmanship and promote a safe, fair and open racing environment at the Hobe Sound Speedway.

*** HELMET CHECK AND REMINDER - The Snell 2010 rating expired on January 1, 2022 ... the newer rating is Snell 2015 or newer and SFI rated youth helmets need to have SFI 24.1 rating. ***

The Championship point system was changed in 2021 to a combination of position of finish points plus number of karts points; Rookie class added for higher skill level than Novice drivers - Rookie class uses same weight, gearing and age requirements as Novice class. ***

NEW SCHEDULE FOR 2024 POSTED BELOW ... (revised January 13, 2024)

IMPORTANT REMINDER - Each parent shall sign an Annual Parential Consent form (white form) and each parent shall sign an event form for each race (pink form). The Race Director will determine the level of inspection for each class - may be as simple as checking a restrictor plate or counting gear teeth or checking lift of the cam. Everyone must pay the prevailing entry fee; sign the waiver; and wear the wrist band - please no exceptions.

News and Info for 2024

ATTENTION RACERS AND CREWS - The REVISED RACE SCHEDULE is POSTED - SAVE THOSE DATES !

The 2024 Race Schedule will use (generally) the 2nd and 4th weekends. There will be a SWAP MEET along with Arrive and Drive plus Track Work Day scheduled this year. FIRST RACE February 10th plus the very popular Bill Willis Sr Champ Memorial Race is May 11th; On June 29th SFK joins the Florida Asphalt Series for a race at Hobe Sound Speedway; More Test and Tunes dates may be scheduled and posted.

The Gate entry fee is $15 per person over 5 years old; the race registration fee is $35 - there is not a separate annual membership fee. The race registration fee includes a daily membership fee. DAILY TRAILER PARKING IS $10 - Assigned/Reserved Parking Fee is $125 per space or $100 depending on location. Those who paid for Assigned/Reserved Parking last year (2023) have first right to same pit space. ALL PIT SPACE RESERVATIONS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN THE SECOND RACE.

Race Day Schedule

Gates will open at 9:00 am
Controlled practice from 10am - 11:15 am
Drivers meeting will be at 11:30 and Racing starting at noon

Gate Admission - $15 per person (5 and younger $5)
Registration Fee for Race - $35 per class; Registration Fee for Test and Tune - $20
Assigned/Reserved Parking - $100 or $75 depending on locations - annual fee - DUE AT SECOND RACE
